Weekend Trading on MyFundedPerps: Crypto Never Sleeps, Forex Closes, Swaps Keep Running
Weekend trading prop firm crypto conditions are a different animal from weekday flow. On MyFundedPerps, crypto perpetuals trade around the clock, seven days a week, while traditional-finance instruments follow scheduled market closures. The catch that surprises most traders: the hourly swap fee meter keeps running on every open position the whole weekend, whether the underlying market is moving or not. Here is how to plan a weekend on the platform without donating your headroom to holding costs.
Weekend trading prop firm crypto hours: what trades on Saturday and Sunday
Crypto markets on MyFundedPerps trade around the clock. There is no weekend close, no maintenance window baked into the schedule, and no reduced rule set. Your daily loss limit, max drawdown, exposure caps, and fees all apply identically at 3:00 a.m. on a Sunday as they do at noon on a Tuesday.
Other instruments can have scheduled market closures. Stocks, indices, and commodities follow their underlying venue calendars, so expect them to be unavailable over the weekend. Check the selected market on the platform before placing an order; the markets page at myfundedperpetuals.com/markets shows current instruments, source venues, and availability.
Forex is the interesting middle case. The launch forex markets, EUR/USD and USD/JPY, run on Lighter and trade around the clock subject to venue availability and fresh market data. In practice that means the forex perps can remain tradable when conventional spot forex is shut, but availability depends on the venue, not on a promise. Verify the market status in the terminal before building a weekend forex plan around it.

The swap fee never sleeps
This is the core weekend fact. Swap fees are charged hourly, on the UTC hour boundary, to both longs and shorts, in every asset class, with no weekend multiplier and no weekend pause. The daily rates, split into 24 equal hourly charges:
Two mechanics matter most over a weekend:
- During a scheduled TradFi closure, the hourly charge uses the latest valid closing mark. Your stock or index position keeps paying swap on a frozen price all weekend. Crypto uses a fresh mark because it trades continuously.
- The charge is based on the position size held at the exact hourly boundary, priced at that boundary's mark. Close before a boundary and you skip that hour's charge. Close after it and you pay for the size held at the boundary. There is no prorating within the hour.
A concrete number: a $10,000 crypto notional held flat for 24 hours costs $3.00 in swap fees ($0.125 per hour). Hold it from Friday evening to Monday morning and you have paid roughly two to three days of swap on a position that may not have moved the way you wanted. On notional, not margin: leverage does not reduce the fee.
Venue funding rates shown in the terminal are informational only. They do not credit or debit your balance; the fixed swap schedule is the only holding cost, and nobody is ever credited.
Why weekend holding costs hit your risk limits
Swap fees debit your account balance directly. They are not a separate ledger. Every hourly charge reduces your balance and therefore your headroom under the equity-based daily loss limit and max drawdown, exactly like a small realized loss every hour.
On an evaluation with a 3% daily loss allowance, a weekend of accumulated swap plus an adverse Sunday-night move can quietly eat a chunk of the allowance before the new week even starts. Also remember the daily loss reset runs at midnight New York time every day, including Saturday and Sunday. The boundary does not care that it is a weekend; your start-of-day equity is re-anchored at midnight seven days a week.
Commissions and other costs still apply
Weekend fills cost the same as weekday fills: 0.03% per fill on crypto, 0.0025% on forex, 0.005% on stocks, commodities, and indices, with maker and taker at the same rate. A $10,000 crypto round trip is $6.00 in commission regardless of the day. If a position is liquidated, a 0.1% liquidation penalty is added on top of the taker fee, and thin weekend books are exactly where sloppy sizing gets punished. The full schedule lives in myfundedperps-fees-breakdown.
A sensible weekend playbook
- Trade the weekend if you have a crypto edge; the market is open and the rules are identical.
- Size for the whole hold. If you plan to carry crypto from Friday to Monday, price in two to three days of swap at 3 bps per day on notional before you enter.
- Mind the hourly boundaries. Closing a position at 14:58 UTC instead of 15:02 UTC skips an entire hour of swap on that position.
- Respect thin liquidity. Weekend order books can be thinner; slippage caps still apply, but top-of-book depth is what it is.
- Track equity, not balance, against your floors, especially into the midnight New York resets on Saturday and Sunday night.
- Do not leave stale positions in closed TradFi markets running swap on a frozen mark unless the carry cost is part of the plan.

Frequently asked questions
Can I trade crypto on MyFundedPerps on weekends?
Yes. Crypto markets trade around the clock, including Saturdays and Sundays, with the same rules, fees, and limits as weekdays.
Is forex open on weekends?
The launch forex markets, EUR/USD and USD/JPY on Lighter, trade around the clock subject to venue availability and fresh market data. Check the terminal for live status before relying on weekend forex access.
Do swap fees still charge when a market is closed?
Yes. Swap fees charge every hour on the UTC boundary, even during scheduled TradFi closures, using the latest valid closing mark. Only closing the position before a boundary avoids that hour's charge.
Do weekends change my daily loss limit?
No. The daily loss limit is 3% of starting balance every day, and the reset happens at midnight New York time every day, weekends included.
Is there a weekend funding credit like on some exchanges?
No. There is no venue funding on the balance at all. The fixed swap fee replaced funding entirely; both longs and shorts are debited, and funding rates shown in the terminal are informational only.
