Prohibited Trading Strategies at MyFundedPerps: The Complete List and the Consequences

About This Blog

Knowing the MyFundedPerps prohibited strategies list is as important as knowing the profit target. Every plan, Select, Prime, and Signature, is designed to evaluate the trading ability and risk management of one verified individual, and anything that manipulates the evaluation, circumvents risk controls, exploits the platform, or misrepresents who is trading is banned. This guide walks through the complete list from the official docs and FAQ, explains what each strategy looks like in practice, and lays out the consequences.

For a broader view of targets, drawdowns, and daily loss rules, start with myfundedperps-rules-explained. This article focuses only on what you cannot do.

Why MyFundedPerps prohibited strategies exist

The platform sells simulated evaluations on real market data. The business works only if results reflect genuine directional risk taken by the person who bought and verified the account. Strategies that manufacture near-guaranteed outcomes, exploit infrastructure, or spread risk across accounts defeat that purpose, so they are treated as violations regardless of which plan or account size you trade.

Cross hedging across accounts

Cross hedging means opening opposing or substantially offsetting positions across multiple accounts to reduce or eliminate economic risk. The docs list the covered cases explicitly:

  • Between two or more MyFundedPerps accounts
  • Between an evaluation account and a funded account
  • Between accounts belonging to different individuals
  • Between household members, friends, partners, employees, or affiliated traders
  • Coordinated long/short where one account is expected to win as another loses
  • Across different account sizes, challenge types, or plan models when the positions offset
  • Through economically equivalent or highly correlated instruments used to circumvent the rule

The key phrase in the docs: MyFundedPerps may evaluate the economic substance of your trades, not just whether the exact same symbol was traded. Hedging BTC on one account against a highly correlated instrument on another still counts.

Technical exploitation strategies

The second cluster of bans targets speed, infrastructure, and platform mechanics rather than market risk:

Note that slippage, mark price, and spread calculations are documented mechanics with published parameters. Trying to game them is a violation; trading within them normally is not.

Coordination and account abuse strategies

  • Group hedging / coordinated trading: multiple traders coordinating, splitting positions, mirroring strategies, or taking opposing sides to manufacture passing accounts, protect funded accounts, or guarantee payouts.
  • Account cycling / sacrificial accounts: using one or more accounts as intentionally disposable to protect, hedge, transfer risk to, or boost the expected return of another account.
  • Risk-free or near risk-free exploitation: setups built to manufacture a nearly guaranteed outcome across accounts, platforms, instruments, markets, promotions, or rules. Evaluation gambling, covered in evaluation-gambling-is-prohibited-why-all-or-nothing-reset-spam-gets-flagged, falls in this family of behavior.
  • Platform, bug, or rule exploitation: abusing software bugs, calculation or pricing errors, race conditions, API issues, configuration mistakes, unintended behavior, or obvious loopholes. The docs add a direct instruction: if you find an error, report it instead of profiting from it.

Identity and access rules that sit alongside the strategy bans

Several non-strategy rules are enforced with the same seriousness. Your account is personal: the person who registered and completed identity verification must be the one making trading decisions. Account sharing, login sharing, paying someone to pass an evaluation for you, account-passing services, and selling or transferring accounts are all prohibited. VPNs, proxies, remote desktops, and location masking may not be used to hide who or where you are or to bypass geographic restrictions (30 countries and regions are currently restricted; the US is not among them).

What is allowed

The rules are not a blanket ban on active trading. You can trade multiple accounts under your own login within the allocation caps (see myfundedperps-account-limits), use the built-in copy trading lead/follower groups across your own accounts, and run automated strategies through the documented public REST API. Automation does not exempt you from any rule: a bot doing HFT, latency arbitrage, or cross-account coordination is just a faster violation. Internal website APIs, including anything visible in browser developer tools, are off-limits.

Consequences of breaking the rules

Violations can lead to:

  • Removal of affected simulated gains or profit adjustments
  • Payout requests being denied
  • Disqualification, account breach, or termination
  • Suspension or, in serious or repeated cases, permanent restriction from the platform

Funding and payout reviews can require additional information before a decision. Enforcement is governed by the Terms of Use and Trading Disclaimer at myfundedperpetuals.com. If you believe a decision is wrong, contact support through Intercom chat in the app, email [email protected], or call +1 (302) 219-3280 with your account ID and the relevant notice.

Frequently asked questions

Can I hedge between two of my own MyFundedPerps accounts?

No. Hedging between two or more MyFundedPerps accounts is explicitly listed as prohibited cross hedging, even when both accounts belong to you. Long and short exposure rules and the exposure caps at myfundedperpetuals.com/exposure-caps are separate from this ban.

Is automated trading banned entirely?

No. Automation is allowed only through the documented public API. Any automated system that engages in HFT, latency arbitrage, quote stuffing, cross-account coordination, or other prohibited activity remains prohibited, and internal website APIs may never be used.

What happens to my profits if a strategy is flagged?

Trades can be removed, profits adjusted, and payout requests denied. In serious or repeated cases the account is terminated and you can be suspended or permanently restricted from MyFundedPerps.

My friend and I trade similar setups. Is that coordinated trading?

Independent trading with similar ideas is different from coordinating, mirroring, or taking opposing positions to manufacture results. The ban targets working together to pass, protect, or guarantee accounts. If you are unsure, ask support before trading.

Where can I read the official prohibited-activity rules?

The full list lives in the FAQ at myfundedperpetuals.com/faq and the docs at docs.myfundedperpetuals.com, with enforcement terms in the Terms of Use and Trading Disclaimer.
