Market, Limit, TWAP, VWAP, and Scaled Orders: Every Order Type on MyFundedPerps

About This Blog

The order ticket is where evaluation risk rules meet execution, so knowing the full set of MyFundedPerps order types is not optional vocabulary. A market order and a scaled ladder can express the same idea with very different slippage, fee, and fill-risk profiles, and on a simulated platform with real order books, those differences decide whether your numbers match your plan. This guide covers every order type the platform supports, how each one fills, and when to reach for which.

The standard MyFundedPerps order types

The trading engine (the same one behind the web interface and the public REST API) accepts these order types:

Every order also carries practical switches: buy or sell side, size, leverage, margin mode (cross or isolated), reduce-only for exits, and time-in-force options including immediate-or-cancel, fill-or-kill, and good-till-date. Omit the type and the engine treats the order as a plain market order.

How market orders fill

Market orders fill at the top of book: the best bid or ask at Level 1. Forex markets fill at mark price instead, a fair-value reference rather than the book.

Slippage always goes against the order: buys fill slightly above market, sells slightly below. The cap is tiered by order notional, and the tier is a ceiling, not a guaranteed cost. If a better price sits at the top of book, you fill there and take less slippage; you never pay more than the cap. Current slippage caps (as of launch day, September 2026; figures may have changed since):

All other instruments use an open-interest band checked at order placement, with caps from 0.8 bps on the deepest markets up to 16 bps on the thinnest. For quiet Binance markets, the server can attempt one fresh venue snapshot (up to 2 seconds) before rejecting the order. One basis point is 0.01%.

Limit orders and the commission myth

Limit orders rest at your price and fill when the market comes to you. Two MyFundedPerps specifics matter:

  • Maker and taker rates are identical. Crypto is 0.03% per fill, forex 0.0025%, stocks, commodities, and indices 0.005%, on entry and exit alike. Limit orders get no discount, so the choice between market and limit is about price control and slippage, not fees.
  • A resting limit order is working exposure. It must be cancelled before a payout request, and resting orders factor into news-window restrictions on funded accounts where new exposure is banned.

The chase order sits between the two: it behaves like a limit order that re-prices itself to stay within a fixed offset of the moving market, useful when you want a passive fill without abandoning a fast tape.

TWAP and VWAP orders

TWAP (time-weighted average price) and VWAP (volume-weighted average price) orders are strategy orders: a parent order that slices your total size into child executions spread over a schedule. Per the public API schema, the controls are:

  • Strategy: twap or vwap, with twap the default
  • Duration: 5 to 1,440 minutes
  • Slice interval: 30 seconds to 43,200 seconds, at most half the selected duration, with a global 12-hour ceiling
  • Optional randomize, reduce-only, trigger price, and min/max price bounds

TWAP spreads slices evenly over time; VWAP shapes them to the market's volume profile. Both exist to reduce market impact on larger clips, and both count as working orders: payout requests require every working order, TWAP orders included, to settle first.

Scaled orders

A scaled order is a price ladder: one parent order that places several limit rungs between a start price and an end price. The API schema gives the exact shape:

  • Rung count: 2 to 10
  • Distribution: flat, ascending, or descending
  • Required inputs: side, total size, start price, end price, leverage, and margin mode, with reduce-only available

Flat spreads size evenly across rungs; ascending puts more size at better prices; descending front-loads size near the start. Use scaled orders to build or exit a position across a range instead of betting a single fill price. A scaled parent can be cancelled together with its working rungs.

Take profit and stop loss attachments

Take profit and stop loss orders attach to an open position and fire when the trigger source crosses your price. Trigger sources follow the market's chart source: Last Price for Binance, Bybit, and Hyperliquid markets, and Mark Price for Lighter markets. This does not change the price references used for loss-limit or liquidation checks.

Two cautions from the docs. A detected stop-loss crossing remains valid even if the price moves back before execution, because the exit still needs a fresh execution price. And placing a stop does not guarantee a fill before a loss-limit breach: on a leveraged position, your 3% daily loss allowance can be consumed by a gap or a thin book before your stop executes. Size accordingly.

Choosing the right tool

  • Need in now, small size, deep market: market order. The slippage cap is your worst case.
  • Price matters more than speed: limit or chase.
  • Big clip in a liquid window: TWAP or VWAP slices.
  • Building a position across a range: scaled ladder.
  • Protecting an open position: attached take profit and stop loss, with the venue trigger source in mind.

Frequently asked questions

Are MyFundedPerps orders executed on a real exchange?

No. Fills, positions, and balances are simulated using real market data and real order books from source venues including Hyperliquid, Binance, Bybit, and Lighter. No order is sent to an exchange, and the same simulated engine serves both the web interface and the public API.

Do limit orders pay lower commissions?

No. Maker and taker rates are the same: 0.03% for crypto, 0.0025% for forex, and 0.005% for stocks, commodities, and indices, charged per fill on entry and exit, with partial fills pro-rated.

What is the difference between TWAP and VWAP on MyFundedPerps?

Both are parent orders that slice your size over time. TWAP spreads slices evenly across the duration; VWAP weights them by volume. Durations run 5 to 1,440 minutes with configurable slice intervals, per the public API documentation.

How many rungs can a scaled order have?

Between 2 and 10 rungs, with flat, ascending, or descending size distribution across your start and end prices.

Does a stop loss guarantee my exit price?

No. A stop triggers an order that still needs a fresh execution price, slippage applies, and a stop does not protect you from a loss-limit breach. Loss rules measure equity including open P/L, so an adverse move can fail the account before a stop fills.
