Funding Review at MyFundedPerps: What Happens When You Pass Over an Allocation Limit

About This Blog

Passing an evaluation is usually the start of a straight four-step path to a funded account. But when the account you just passed would push you over an allocation limit, the path picks up an extra stage: the MyFundedPerps funding review. This article explains exactly when the review triggers, what the dashboard statuses mean, what stays valid while you wait, and what outcomes are possible. Everything below comes from our official Becoming Funded documentation and product graphics.

The standard funding path

Every passed evaluation follows the same four-part route:

  1. Challenge Passed
  2. Identity Verification
  3. Customer Agreement
  4. Funded Account

The passed account's dashboard shows which step is complete, current, upcoming, or blocked. When the evaluation passes, you receive a congratulations email with the account ID and a link back to the dashboard, plus a separate invitation to complete identity verification if that is your next step. Your evaluation certificate marks Evaluation Passed with your name, challenge details, and pass date.

Identity verification

Identity checks run through Sumsub. Your documents go directly to Sumsub and are not stored by MyFundedPerps. A current Sumsub approval is reused across your accounts, including a check completed for affiliate payouts, so you do not repeat an approved verification unless the team requires a new one. Use your complete legal identity and follow the provider prompts; if the check needs attention, the funding path page explains why.

Customer agreement

After identity approval, the customer agreement opens for signature. You review the complete document and version, confirm the legal name on the signature, give the required consent, type or draw the electronic signature, and submit. The Review and Sign button near the top jumps to the consent section, but using the shortcut does not sign anything by itself. Signing records the signature and audit details with the exact document fingerprint, and you can download the signed agreement when that action becomes available.

When the MyFundedPerps funding review triggers

The trigger is mechanical. You can hold up to $300,000 in total active funded allocation, with a maximum of $100,000 per model type. Select, Prime, and Signature are separate models, and the limit adds the original sizes of your active funded accounts. Profits, losses, and withdrawals do not change the allocation used, and failed, closed, or archived accounts no longer count.

If funding another passed account would exceed either limit, the application enters Funding Review after identity verification and agreement completion. It does not receive a funded account automatically. The docs give a concrete case: passing a second $100K Prime account while you already hold $100K funded in Prime requires Funding Review, even if your total across all models is below $300K. The per-model cap binds on its own.

What the review statuses mean

While the application is in Funding Review In Progress, the dashboard shows one of several states: waiting for review, needs attention, not approved, or ready. Two practical rules:

  • Do not repeat completed steps. Your identity check and signed agreement remain on the application while it waits. Repeating them accomplishes nothing and can slow things down.
  • Watch the dashboard, not your inbox assumptions. The funding path page is the source of truth for what the account needs next.

If the review asks for additional information, respond through the channel the dashboard indicates. Funding and payout reviews can require extra information under our trading rules, particularly where prohibited-strategy concerns are involved.

Possible outcomes

There are two end states:

  1. Approved. Funding approval always has to remain within both limits, so an approval means the account fits. You choose Go to Funded Account or select the new account in the account switcher, confirm its stage is Funded and status is Active, and start trading.
  2. Not approved. A review does not guarantee additional allocation. The passed evaluation does not convert to a funded account, and the dashboard shows the not-approved state with any next steps.

Remember what the funded account is once issued: a separate account from the passed evaluation, with its own balance, rules, positions, payout cycle, and history. It also carries the 7-Day Inactivity Rule: at least one executed trade every 7 consecutive calendar days, counted from activation or the most recent trade, or the account closes. The rule card on the dashboard shows the countdown and deadline.

How to avoid an unnecessary review

Most funding reviews are avoidable with basic allocation planning:

  • Track your used allocation by model. Two $50K accounts fill a model just as completely as one $100K account.
  • Remember that closed and failed accounts free their room. If a funded account recently closed, that size is available again before you buy a new challenge in the same model.
  • Match purchases to open lanes. If your Select model is full but Signature is empty, a Signature challenge passes straight through while another Select would land in review.

Frequently asked questions

Does a MyFundedPerps funding review mean I failed something?

No. Funding Review is an allocation check, not a judgment on your trading. It triggers when funding the passed account would exceed the $300K total cap or the $100K per-model cap.

Do I need to redo identity verification during the review?

No. A completed Sumsub identity check and your signed agreement stay attached to the application while it waits. Do not repeat steps the dashboard shows as complete.

Does the review guarantee I get the extra allocation?

No. A review does not guarantee additional allocation. Any approval must remain within both the per-model and total limits.

My total is under $300K. Why did my account still go to review?

Because the $100K per-model cap applies independently. Passing a second $100K Prime account while already holding $100K funded in Prime triggers review even when your overall total is below $300K.

What happens to my passed evaluation if funding is not approved?

The application shows as not approved on the funding path. The passed account does not convert into a funded account; check the dashboard and support guidance for what options apply to your case.
